HAIGHT
ASHBURY BARS and CLUBS
Club
Deluxe
Haight neighborhood
"watering hole" - swing
renaissance-
live performance on bar's little
stage. Club Deluxe
is an interesting venue. Caught somewhere between dive,
cocktail lounge and neighborhood hangout.
There seems to be a strong creative influence from a young group
seeking an outlet for performance art.
Keep an eye on this place. It might become one of the more
original entertainment destinations for San Franciscan's.
Call for music calendar. Gets crowded. Costumes.

John Murio's
Trophy Room
The Trophy Room qualifies as a
true Haight Ashbury dive bar.
Pool tables, motorcycles parked
out front, loud jukebox playing
classic rock & roll. The
clientele is distinctly eclectic,
ranging from tattooed rockers to
yuppies and college students.
Freaks abound, ranging in age
from the newest streeters to
mumbling old hippies, hung out
too long since 1969. The evidence
of acid-heads is distinct. Expect
to be panhandled, a lot. Be
careful at night, or anytime in
the Haight. If you come through
the door wearing your latest
rainbow T-shirt, just purchased
down the street, everyone will
know you're a rube. "Be
cool, man".
